3. Travel information and health advice

4. Travel insurance: mandatory requirement

Comprehensive travel and medical insurance is a mandatory requirement for all clients travelling with Mwena NV. By proceeding with a booking, you confirm that you hold, or will hold prior to departure, a valid travel insurance policy that covers as a minimum:

• Emergency medical treatment and hospitalisation
• Medical evacuation and repatriation
• Trip cancellation and curtailment
• Loss of baggage and personal effects
• Personal liability

Mwena NV accepts no responsibility for any loss, cost, or damage arising from a client's failure to obtain adequate travel insurance prior to departure. We strongly recommend taking out insurance at the time of booking to ensure cancellation cover is in place from the outset.

5. Force majeure

Mwena NV shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure). Force majeure events include, but are not limited to:

• Natural disasters, including floods, earthquakes, wildfires, and severe weather
• Pandemics, epidemics, or public health emergencies declared by national or international authorities
• Political instability, civil unrest, war, terrorism, or government travel restrictions or advisories
• Strikes, labour disputes, or industrial action affecting transport or accommodation providers
• Airline failure, airport closures, or disruption to air travel
• Any other event outside the reasonable control of Mwena NV

In the event of a force majeure situation, Mwena NV will make every reasonable effort to assist affected clients in rebooking or rescheduling their journey. Where this is not possible, any refund or credit will be subject to the policies of the individual lodges, airlines, and activity providers involved. We strongly recommend that all clients hold travel insurance that covers force majeure events and trip cancellation.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Belgian and EU law, Mwena NV shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive loss or damage arising from:

• Your use of, or reliance on, information published on this website
• Any interruption, suspension, or error affecting the website
• Events beyond our reasonable control, including force majeure events as described in section 5 above
• Acts or omissions of third-party service providers including airlines, lodges, activity operators, or transport companies
